Job Summary:
We are seeking diligent and responsible Campus Unarmed Security Officers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be proactive, observant, and committed to maintaining a safe campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol campus premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of students, staff, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent the passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
- Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
- Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in stressful situations.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid Texas Security License.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
