About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Communications and Engagement Officer to lead its global brand and reputation management, marketing, and communications strategies. The successful candidate will be a senior leader with at least 15 years' experience in public relations and communications, including a strong background in developing and executing marketing, brand, and communications strategies. This role requires a compelling communicator with the ability to motivate and energize diverse teams and audiences, particularly in the context of the organization's mission to support Indigenous Peoples' guardianship and elevate their role in ensuring planetary health. The Chief Communications and Engagement Officer will be responsible for overseeing the development of editorial and creative content, leading the production of visual content such as films and documentaries, and ensuring that all communications align with the organization's values and mission. Applicants must have a proven track record of working with Indigenous Peoples and communities, as well as experience in external affairs and media relations. The role involves serving as the primary spokesperson for the organization, guiding the development of global marketing and communications strategies, and building relationships with key stakeholders to amplify the organization's impact. The ideal candidate will have superior writing skills, the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively, and experience in leading a high-performing team. Proficiency in multiple languages and a background in global, environmental, or Indigenous rights sectors are highly desirable. The position is based in the United States and may require up to 30% travel annually.
