JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the progress of inbound shipments from origin to destination, including tracking shipment status and notifying relevant parties of any delays.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to arrange delivery of goods.
  • Review and prepare import documentation including commercial invoices, bills of loading, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Accurately enter import data into company systems
  • Maintaining detailed records of all shipments.
  • Respond to inquiries related to import activities
  • Receiving, monitoring, and processing daily freight movements
  • Generate reports on all import activities
  • Manage import logistics, including warehouse storage and delivery arrangements.
  • Liaise with customs brokers to resolve any customs clearance delays or discrepancies.
  • Submit required documents to customs brokers and government agencies for customs clearance.
  • Monitor and track the status of import shipments throughout the customs clearance process.
  • Reporting to a branch supervisor or manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (Perm Res/Green Card)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in import operations
  • International business experience
  • Customs experience
  • Microsoft Excel skills (formulations)
  • Dynamics 365
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation industry practices and terminology
  • Understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
