Position Summary CAE's mandate is to provide services for disabled students who require accommodations. This position is to provide students with disabilities a "level playing field" throughout the campus community, including CAE testing locations, classrooms, laboratories, and in some cases, remote environments. Proctors are responsible for duties within the Testing Center and other testing locations, such as providing accommodations, overseeing exams, maintaining academic integrity, and working with campus partners (professors, TAs, and academic departments). Proctors assist with clerical duties related to testing forms and correspondence, data entry, and general clerical functions. They also help with data collection, scanning, answering phones, and addressing questions from students and professors. The incumbent should present a professional and supportive demeanor. Qualifications Working knowledge of the academic needs of students with disabilities and campus services (Preferred) Verbal and written communication skills; ability to make presentations (Required) Ability to communicate tactfully with faculty, staff, and students (Required) Ability to counsel and advise students (Required) Ability to contact campus and off-campus organizations as a representative of the CAE (Required) Working knowledge of computers and software (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook) (Preferred) Ability to work remotely (Required) Ability to work under pressure with deadlines, making decisions quickly and accurately (Required) Independent work skills, organization, and follow-through (Required) Interpersonal skills for interacting with students of various backgrounds (Required) Knowledge of laws related to persons with disabilities (Preferred) Knowledge of FERPA (Preferred) Ability to maintain a quiet, distraction-reduced environment (Required) Ability to provide timely services and avoid complaints (Required) Problem-solving skills and ability to develop processes (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience (Preferred) Special Conditions for Employment Background check required Live Scan background check required before employment Designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA For more details, see the full position description . #J-18808-Ljbffr
