Job Title: Contract Purchasing & Scheduling Manager

Pay Rate: $46–$58/hr

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

We’re looking for a plug-and-play Purchasing & Scheduling Manager to immediately step in and to oversee the procurement and production planning operations located near Columbus, OH manufacturing facility. This is a critical contract role designed to maintain continuity and minimize risk while the permanent team is in transition. You’ll be working independently onsite while collaborating closely with support from corporate and other plant locations.

This is an ideal opportunity for a high-performing contractor who thrives in fast-paced, high-autonomy roles, and who is confident making production-schedule decisions in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily purchasing and production scheduling functions for the site.
• Monitor site production versus schedule and proactively adjust as needed.
• Interface with operations, customer planning teams, and leadership to manage priorities and risks.
• Place POs and track inventory levels, particularly raw materials, packaging, and ingredients.
• Maintain and update production schedules in SAP (or similar ERP).
• Communicate supply issues, delays, and risks across departments.
• Ensure timely vendor follow-up and coordinate expediting of critical materials.
• Report on schedule health: track/on-track, risks, and key updates to site leadership.
• Drive scheduling agility, adjust in real-time based on availability, constraints, or shifting customer demand.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Strong experience in purchasing and production scheduling within food, beverage, or manufacturing environments.
• Advanced Excel skills, able to manipulate data, pivot tables, formulas, and schedule planning tools.
• Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Excellent communication skills across departments and vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal training or handoff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a command of numbers and inventory metrics.
• Ability to stay calm and adaptable under pressure and respond to changing needs quickly.
