Parsons is seeking a talented Senior System Security Engineer to join our growing team! While this position is primarily on-site, there will be opportunities to work remote when planning and documenting. Responsibilities include serving as the technical SME for RMF-based cybersecurity assessments and system authorization strategies; developing and updating RMF artifacts such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTMs), Configuration Management Plans, Incident Response Plans, Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) Plans, POA&Ms and Security Assessment Reports (SARs); supporting the IATT, ATC, and ATO processes; performing system-level security control assessments (NIST SP 800-53) and validation of security posture; evaluating external connection risks and supporting the ATC approval process; supporting vulnerability and compliance scans using tools like ACAS, Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer; working with development and infrastructure teams to maintain secure configurations and baselines; maintaining continuous monitoring processes; drafting cyber documentation for accreditation; and assisting in security impact analyses. Required skills include an active Secret Clearance, a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience, 8+ years of related experience, CompTIA Sec+, experience with RMF-based cybersecurity assessments, and strong understanding of DoD and NIST cybersecurity frameworks. Desired skills include cybersecurity certifications (CompTIA CASP+, CISSP, OSCP, CISM, CEH, GSEC), system administration with Linux, network switch/router administration or network engineering, VMware, Kubernetes, and Docker experience. This position is part of the Federal Solutions team supporting US government customers. Parsons offers a salary range of $108,700.00 - $190,200.00 and best-in-class benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), life insurance, flexible work schedules, and holidays.
