Role: Senior Healthcare Business Analyst

Location: Remote EST

Duration: Contract

Need Senior Healthcare Business Analyst, must have background in healthcare (at least 3 years), revenue cycle management, and BI focused. someone who's SME base is revenue cycle management.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare IT Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on leveraging business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, to support healthcare operations, optimize revenue cycle management (RCM), and drive data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the healthcare industry, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis : Collaborate with stakeholders, including clinical staff, finance teams, and IT departments, to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for healthcare IT systems and processes.
  • Business Intelligence Development : Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle management, patient care, and operational efficiency.
  • Revenue Cycle Management : Analyze and optimize RCM processes, including patient registration, billing, claims processing, and reimbursement, to enhance financial performance and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting : Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in healthcare operations and financial workflows.
  • System Integration : Work with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of healthcare IT systems (e.g., EHR/EMR, billing systems) with business intelligence tools and other platforms.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders, including executives and department leaders.
  • Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes through data-driven insights and process optimization.
  • Compliance & Standards : Ensure all solutions align with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines) and industry best practices.
  • Mentorship : Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience :
    • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the healthcare industry.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
    • Proven expertise in revenue cycle management, including billing, coding, claims processing, and reimbursement.
    • Experience with healthcare IT systems such as Epic, Cerner, or other EHR/EMR platforms.
  • Technical Skills :
    • Advanced proficiency in Power BI for creating dashboards, reports, and data models.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
  • Soft Skills :
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications : Preferred certifications include CBAP, CCBA, or healthcare-specific certifications (e.g., AHIMA, HFMA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling or machine learning.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies for project management.
